Why We Exist
About Us
Design My Safari was founded in 2025 with a simple goal: to make safari planning more transparent, flexible and connected to the people who actually deliver the experience.
Travellers often start with a suggested itinerary or an initial quote, then go through multiple versions as they change accommodation, add experiences or adjust their plans. Each change can mean another conversation, another quote and often another increase in the overall price.
It can be difficult to see what individual choices cost, what alternatives are available, or how changing one part of the safari affects the total. By the time the final itinerary takes shape, it may look, and cost, quite different from where the conversation began.
At the same time, the local safari operators who actually deliver these journeys can be hidden behind layers of intermediaries, despite being the people with the knowledge, guides, vehicles and experience that make a safari happen.
We knew there was a better way. A way that makes planning your safari part of the excitement, puts you in control and connects you with the people who know the destination best. So we built Design My Safari.
We started with the safari itself
Using local expertise, we built routes that make sense on the ground, taking into account distances, driving times, seasons and the practicalities of travelling between destinations. The aim is simple: to spend less of your safari getting from one place to another and more of it experiencing the places you came to see.
